About Rosa: Energy Healing Modalities
Early Life and Academic Pursuits
I grew up in a middle-class, ethnic neighborhood in Queens, New York. From a young age, I felt a deep connection to those in crisis, knowing they held the key to rising above painful situations and finding their way back to health and well-being. I immersed myself in sociology, psychology, and medical courses during college, focusing on mental health, and received a PhD in medical sociology from Columbia University. I later completed my postdoctoral studies at Stanford University as an Andrew Mellon Fellow.
Early Career and Research Focus
My interests took me into the world of cancer and HIV. I was fortunate to study alongside brilliant clinicians and scientists who shared my passion for understanding how emotions influence physical health. I joined the UNC-Chapel Hill faculty and expanded my research to mental health and illness. I moved back to New York in 2001 and joined the Vera Institute of Justice, working with children in the foster care system. I found the immediacy and hands-on quality of policy work rewarding. However, I felt I still missed the mark: my work didn’t address the root cause of suffering or demonstrate lasting benefits in improving a person’s quality of life through holistic healing.
Spiritual Awakening and Shamanic Healing
In the Spring of 2003, I read a book that changed my life: Soul Retrieval by Sandra Ingerman. Her explanation of the experience of trauma was one of soul loss, where our soul’s life force is diminished and separates itself to survive. Retrieving that vital life force requires shamanic healing, offered by a shamanic practitioner who travels through non-ordinary reality and forges alliances with the spirit realms to return the soul to perfect health.
My First Soul Retrieval Experience
Later that same year, I received a Soul Retrieval and was instantly transported into the spiritual realms. I could see, feel, and engage with power animals and angels. I could feel their presence in the room with me, feel their energy flowing through my body. I felt a deep peace and connection with everything in the Universe. I felt completely restored after the experience, yet I could not fully understand how it happened. I needed to know more about energy healing and its impact on the mind body spirit connection.
Energy Healing Modalities
In 2004, I journeyed to Brazil to a healing sanctuary known as the Casa de Dom Inácio. I witnessed psychic surgeries and had ample opportunities to speak with people who had such surgeries. I experienced profound energy healing while sitting quietly in the meditation rooms. I was told I was a healing medium, a spiritual channel for Source energy. I was invited back to continue my training in this form of energy medicine.
Exploring Alternative Healing Modalities
Upon returning to the States, I studied alternative energy healing modalities: Shamanism, Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression, Life Between Lives Spiritual Regression, and akashic records. I also explored craniosacral therapy, chiropractic care, sound healing, and crystal healing. While different in form, every modality, including Reiki healing, led to the same result: profound energetic healing radiating at the soul level, restoring health and vitality on the mental, emotional, and physical levels.
In my studies, I came across the importance of aligning the central nervous system and addressing chronic pain holistically, incorporating alternative medicine like traditional Chinese medicine, feng shui, and bach flower remedies. I believe in the mind-body approach, integrating sound therapy, pranic healing, and chakra healing to balance the energy flow in the body.
Reflecting on Two Decades of Transformation
It’s been twenty years since I embarked on my transformative journey. Reflecting on my path, I understand the profound synergy between my deep-rooted expertise in science and medicine and my innate abilities as a healing medium. This realization has empowered me to navigate seamlessly between these two realms, offering support and guidance to individuals seeking balance and alignment in their physical and spiritual lives, addressing issues like anxiety depression.
The Harmony Between Science and Spirituality
I firmly believe the harmonious integration of science, traditional Chinese and natural healing practices, and energy work is essential for fostering holistic health and well-being. By collaborating with service providers in health care and utilizing different types of therapies, including massage therapy and healing touch, I help individuals find relief from side effects and achieve lasting recovery through mind body connection.

Rosa Haritos, PhD, CHt, is a graduate of Barnard College and Columbia University, New York. She was an Andrew Mellon Fellow at Stanford University and has taught and engaged in research studies at several Ivy League Universities as well as the Pasteur Institute in Paris France and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland. She is a Medium, Shamanic Practitioner, Certified Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master/Teacher. She has a private healing practice in Hansville Washington.
